Azar Renews COVID-19 Public Health Emergency

HHS Secretary Alex Azar on Thursday (Jan. 7) extended the COVID-19 public health emergency that had been scheduled to expire the day after President-elect Joe Biden’s inauguration. The public health emergency will be renewed for 90 days unless the secretary declares the emergency to be ended before then.
