Azar Offers Details On Using $100B Hospital Fund For The Uninsured

HHS Secretary Alex Azar said Friday (April 3) that the administration plans to use a portion of the $100 billion CARES Act funding for hospitals to reimburse providers for treating the uninsured with COVID-19. Vice President Mike Pence had mentioned the policy idea during the Thursday press conference, but Azar provided additional information, including that the services will be paid for at Medicare rates, and that hospitals must promise not to balance bill patients in order to get the funding...
