Amid Scrutiny, FDA Eases Restrictions On N95 Mask Sanitization System

After pushback from Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine (R) and President Donald Trump, FDA on Sunday (March 29) authorized Ohio-based nonprofit Battelle Memorial Institute’s decontamination system for use in sanitizing as many as 160,000 N95 masks for reuse. Earlier in the day, the agency had only approved the system to sanitize 10,000 masks.
