Third Year Program Results Show ACOs Perform Better Over Time

CMS released results for the third year of accountable care organizations Tuesday (Aug. 25), and the agency says the results show that ACOs tend to perform better over time. ACOs are a cornerstone of the delivery reforms in the Affordable Care Act. More than 420 Medicare ACOs have been established that serve more than 7.8 million beneficiaries, according to CMS.
