ProbioTech LLC, a prospective probiotic suppository maker, asks FDA to change the definition of dietary supplements to include suppositories in a citizen petition filed earlier this month. The company argues that probiotic suppositories should be treated in the same way as oral probiotics, which are considered dietary supplements, and not be regulated as a drug.
