Part D Premiums Projected To Remain Stable In 2016

CMS projected Wednesday (July 29) that the average premium for a basic Medicare Part D plan in 2016 will remain stable despite the total Part D per capita costs growing by almost 11 percent in 2014. The average premium for a Part D plan in 2016 is projected to cost $32.50, and CMS noted in a fact sheet that for the past five years the average monthly premium for a basic plan has been between $30 and $32.
