Medicare Rights Center Launches Grass-Roots Press To Protect SHIPs

The Medicare Rights Center this week launched a grass-roots campaign aimed at convincing House appropriators to continue funding for the Medicare State Health Insurance programs. The beneficiary advocacy group says SHIPs funding should not only be continued, but increased, in light of the number of baby boomers aging onto Medicare. The Senate Appropriations Committee passed a fiscal 2017 HHS spending bill that stripped funding for SHIPs.
