Louisiana Insurance Department Takes Over CO-OP

Louisiana's Department of Insurance announced Tuesday that it has been granted an order of rehabilitation and injunctive relief that allows Insurance Commissioner Jim Donelon to take control of the Louisiana Health Cooperative (LAHC). The CO-OP had announced in July that it would cease operations citing slow growth, but also said it would honor existing policyholders and pay all claims.
