House Appropriators Tell FDA To Delay Partially Hydrogenated Oil Ban

House appropriators have directed FDA to delay the effective date of its final determination that partially hydrogenated oils are not generally recognized as safe -- until first acting on a food additive petition -- and then provide a transition period of three years for companies to reformulate products that would allow marketing of current uses of PHOs.
