HHS Gives Liability Shield For ZMapp Ebola Treatment Clinical Studies

HHS recently offered liability immunity for the experimental Ebola treatment ZMapp, which has been developed under a contract between the department and California-based Mapp Biopharmaceutical Inc. The two-year liability immunity is retroactive to Feb. 27, when a clinical trial of ZMapp began in Liberia and the United States by the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID).
