FDA Imports IV Fluids For Large Animals To Help Address U.S. Shortage

FDA said Wednesday (July 29) that it began importing this month three to five liter volume units of fluid solutions for intravenous use in large animals to address a U.S. shortage. The agency announced in late-April that it intended to import the solution from Ireland and Australia to mitigate the shortage. FDA says the foreign shipments will help resolve current disruptions, but will not resolve the shortage.
