CMS Postpones To Sept 14 Comment Deadline For Hospital Star Ratings

CMS postponed until Sept. 14 the deadline for commenting on the proposed star rating system for hospitals. The deadline was originally Monday (Aug. 17). CMS recently added star ratings for consumer surveys to Hospital Compare, an agency website designed to make it easier for consumers to choose hospitals. A test of the proposed methodology concludes Monday. CMS plans to add overall star ratings to the website next year. -- John Wilkerson
