A bipartisan group of Senate and House lawmakers introduced a bill this week that would ensure that Medicare beneficiaries are no longer hit with surprise charges for colonoscopies they thought were free. The Removing Barriers to Colorectal Cancer Screening Act would eliminate cost-sharing for Medicare beneficiaries receiving routine screening colonoscopy when polyps are removed.
