ONC Hires Chief Health Information Officer With A Focus On Interoperability

The Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology announced James McCoy will be the ONC's first Chief Health Information Officer. McCoy will lead development of ONC's clinical policy for standards and regulatory matters, National Coordinator for HIT and Acting Assistant Secretary for Health Karen DeSalvo said in an email to staff.
