OIG, Brady Anti-Fraud Draft Add Support For Pharmacy Lock-In Programs

Pharmacy benefit managers are applauding recent support from a key House GOP lawmaker and the HHS Office of Inspector General for policies to lock high-risk beneficiaries into specific pharmacies or providers, moves that follow CMS former Medicare chief Jonathan Blum's calls last year for Congress to give CMS that authority. Some beneficiary advocates are urging caution, however, out of concern that poorly designed programs could deny access to beneficiaries.
