Koskinen: IRS Getting Real-Time Data From Marketplaces For Reconciliation

The IRS has been getting “real time” data from the health insurance marketplaces that lets the agency flag tax forms which have not reconciled the amount of advanced premium tax credits (APTCs) received with the amount for which they were actually eligible, IRS Commissioner John Koskinen told Senate Finance Committee members at a Wednesday hearing, noting that last year the data was received on a rolling basis throughout the filing season.
