UnitedHealthcare Sues CMS Over Medicare Advantage Overpayment Rule

UnitedHealthcare and its plans sued CMS over a Medicare Advantage rule that requires plans to report and return risk adjustment overpayments for diagnoses that aren't backed up by a beneficiary's medical record. Among other concerns, plans tell the court the rule goes too far by covering repayments that plans “should have” known about, and also allege that under the rule some beneficiaries in MA plans could incorrectly seem healthier -- and cheaper to take care of -- than their counterparts...
