Lawmakers Pressed To Mitigate Effects Of DME Bidding On Beneficiaries, Rural Areas

The National Minority Quality Forum is urging lawmakers to immediately suspend the durable medical equipment competitive bidding program until the program has better safety monitoring in place, while suppliers are pushing lawmakers to mitigate reimbursement cuts in rural areas driven by competitive bidding prices and to exclude certain DME accessories from competitive bidding as part of a must-pass appropriations package.
