CMS: Performance Improving On Quality Programs Across Many Sectors

CMS says providers improved performance across several sets of quality measures, but providers aren't excelling on outcomes measures and fewer than half of quality measures are aligned with other state and federal programs. The report, required by the Affordable Care Act every three years, suggests ideas for improving these programs, including retiring process measures that aren't linked to outcomes and for which there is no longer much room for improvement.
