FTC Issues Cerebral First-Ever Ban On Using Health Info In Ads

The Federal Trade Commission on Monday (April 15) issued the first-of-its-kind prohibition that bans the tele-mental health company Cerebral from using any health information for most advertising purposes for failing to protect sensitive health information. The company will also be required to pay more than $7 million over charges that it disclosed consumers’ sensitive personal health information to third parties for advertising services.
