E&C Oversight Panel To Discuss Opioid Abuse With State Health Officials

The House Energy and Commerce oversight subcommittee will continue its investigation into prescription opioid abuse at a hearing Thursday (May 21) featuring health officials from several states. Opioid abuse has been a top focus at Energy and Commerce, with the committee's 21st Century Cures draft legislation including provisions that would let plans limit which pharmacies may dispense drugs prone to abuse, such as pain medicine.
