AMA Pushes Debt Super Committee To Replace SGR, Do Tort Reform

In response to the formation of the debt-reduction super committee, the American Medical Association has launched a lobbying offensive to push Congress to replace the Medicare sustainable growth rate (SGR) formula -- an expensive proposition whose timeline coincides with the committee's work -- and address medical malpractice reform.
