The White House on Tuesday (April 23) unveiled a new National Strategy for Suicide Prevention federal action plan which includes more than 200 proposals to help federal agencies like CMS and FDA tackle the mental health crisis, such as educating providers on suicide prevention strategies, integrating prevention in behavioral health work, analyzing beneficiaries’ lived experiences, monitoring use of Medicare psychotherapy services used outside of a physician office and more.

The White House’s Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs (OIRA) has signed off on FDA’s final rule for regulation of laboratory-developed tests (LDTs), indicating that the controversial, much-anticipated rule could be available at any time.
