CMS Thursday (March 28) extended the deadline for the special enrollment period available to people who lost Medicaid coverage due to the unwinding from July 31 to Nov. 30, saying many states need more time to finish the eligibility redetermination process.

Hospice Providers Get Lower Pay Hike Than 2024 Under CMS Proposal

The Biden administration is proposing to boost hospice providers’ fiscal 2025 pay by $705 million -- about $80 million less than last year’s increase and an update that providers say won’t be enough -- while asking stakeholders whether CMS should separate payment mechanisms to account for delivery of high-intensity palliative care services, like palliative dialysis, chemotherapy, radiation and transfusions.
