Post-acute care legislation designed to lay the foundation for payment reforms is headed to the president's desk. Home health and nursing homes praised the bill, but long-term care hospitals and rehabilitation providers worry the measure could lead to payment cuts for their sectors. The Senate passed the bill Thursday (Sept. 18) following House passage Tuesday (Sept. 16). The bill standardizes patient assessments among the four post-acute care settings, which is supposed to give Congress the data for major pay reforms...
