HHS Offers Leeway As First FFM Enrollment Deadline Passes; States, Insurers Also Offer Flexibility

HHS offered a last-minute extension to about 500,000 consumers who experienced high wait times when contacting the federal call center prior to Monday night's enrollment deadline for coverage to be effective Jan. 1, but says it won't provide a blanket extension as offered by some state-run exchanges.
