HHS Awards 21 States $25 Million In Rate Review Grants

HHS on Friday (Sept. 19) announced $25 million in rate review grants to 21 states, and said that last year consumers benefitted from $1 billion in savings due to insurance rates that were lower than what plans had initially requested. HHS analyzed rate trends in the individual and small group markets . The ACA requires that insurance companies publicly justify any rate increase that is at least 10 percent.
