HHS Approves Pennsylvania’s ‘Medicaid Expansion’

Some half a million Pennsylvania residents will receive federal government subsidies for buying private managed-care insurance under the state's Healthy PA program, a Medicaid expansion alternative approved Thursday (Aug. 28). In return for CMS letting the state use a private insurance approach, Gov. Tom Corbett (R) backed off requiring residents to search for work or lose their subsidies .
