HHS OIG: CMS Paid Out $2.8 Billion To Insurers Without Adequate Controls

A new HHS Office of Inspector General report out Tuesday (June 16) slammed CMS for lacking the internal controls to ensure that nearly $2.8 billion in financial assistance payments made to insurance companies were accurate during the first four months those payments were made.
