RAND: 16.9M More Adults Insured Since ACA Mandates Began

Nearly 17 million people between the ages of 18 and 64 gained insurance since the Affordable Care Act's coverage provisions took effect in 2014, according to estimates in a new RAND Corporation report out Wednesday (May 6). The study's findings are higher than recent federal estimates but RAND cautions that the numbers might be inaccurate due to a small sample size.
