GOP Presses Tavenner On Directing Staff To Delete Emails Related To Healthcare.gov

House Energy and Commerce Republicans are questioning the administration's commitment to transparency and its policy regarding the preservation of records after discovering that CMS Administrator Marilyn Tavenner asked a communications staffer to delete an email discussion about healthcare.gov last October. A CMS spokesperson pointed out that the emails were never deleted despite Tavenner's directions and the documents are intact.
