With Daines Bill, Bipartisan Concern Brews Over Employer Mandate And Home-Care Providers

Rep. Steve Daines (R-MT) has introduced legislation that would temporarily exempt certain Medicare and Medicaid providers from the ACA’s employer mandate, saying that forcing those businesses to comply with the provision would place “undue hardships” on beneficiaries who receive in-home care from providers. Daines’ legislation would provide a two-year delay of the mandate to businesses that have a three-year rolling average of Medicare or Medicaid reimbursements that totals more than 60 percent of gross receipts.
