Senate's FDA Spending Bill Heads To Full Committee With $40 Million Funding Hike

A Senate Appropriations subcommittee agreed to hike FDA funding by $40 million over fiscal 2015 levels, with the increase going toward agency efforts to implement portions of the Food Safety Modernization Act, combat antibiotic resistance and develop a new approach to next-generation sequencing tests under the Precision Medicine Initiative.
