Pay Rules Advance Reporting Requirements For Several Health Care Sectors

CMS on Friday (July 31) issued final pay rules for services in five areas: hospitals, long-term care hospitals, hospice, inpatient rehabilitation facilities and inpatient psychiatric facilities. The hospital rule increases payment rates 0.9 percent for general acute-care hospitals, unless they don’t participate in the Hospital Inpatient Quality Reporting program or don't demonstrate meaningful use of certified electronic health record technology.
