Lawmakers Push PREA Reforms To Include Oncology Trials For Pediatrics

A bipartisan group of lawmakers recently unveiled legislation that would update the Pediatric Research Equity Act to require that companies study oncology drugs in pediatric populations if the molecular target is relevant to a childhood cancer. A similar piece of legislation had been floated for inclusion in the House-passed 21st Century Cures Act and the Senate's complementary legislative package, but it was not included.
