House Democrats increased their call for Republicans to act on high drug prices by launching an Affordable Drug Pricing Task Force Wednesday (Nov. 4), with task force member Elijah Cummings (D-MD) saying congressional failure to address “skyrocketing prices of drugs” would be “legislative malpractice.” Cummings also led a group of Democrats in demanding the oversight committee subpoena documents from pharmaceutical companies that the Democrats allege have “engaged in blatant price gouging.” The Democrats' moves put pharmaceutical makers on the defense...
