House Agriculture Chairman Mike Conaway (R-TX) said today he would reluctantly support the Senate bill to mandate labeling of genetically modified foods, and signaled the House would vote on the bill next week. The Senate voted 63-30 late Thursday to approve the bill after Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) effectively blocked consideration of amendments by lawmakers who prefer a more stringent regime.
