House lawmakers included an increase of $41.5 million for FDA’s food safety efforts under the Food Safety Modernization Act in the agriculture-FDA appropriations bill that unanimously passed the subcommittee Thursday (June 18), falling far short of the president’s budget request of an increase of $109.5 million in new budget authority.
