Fitzpatrick Presses For E&C Hearings On FDA’s Ability To Monitor Devices

A bipartisan group of lawmakers led by Rep. Mike Fitzpatrick (R-PA) is pressing the Energy and Commerce Committee to hold hearings on ways to improve FDA’s ability to monitor and act on potentially deadly medical devices. The lawmakers assert it is timely for the committee to take up the issue given the pending 21st Century Cures legislation, which would streamline FDA's reviews of medical products.
