FDA Takes Steps To Bring Oversight Of Animal Drug Compounding In Line With Other Compounding

FDA kept its word with lawmakers by releasing a revised animal drug compounding guide that is more consistent with enforcement policy for human drugs laid out in the Drug Quality and Security Act (DQSA). The draft guide lays out conditions in which the agency would not enforce misbranding, adulteration or approval provisions for pharmacies or outsourcing facilities that compound animal drugs.
