FDA Eyes Biomarkers For Non-Microbial Infection For In Vitro Diagnostics

As the House lawmakers push for FDA to step up use of biomarkers to streamline clinical trials, FDA announced it will hold a public meeting Oct. 16 to look at developing non-microbial biomarkers of infection for in vitro diagnostic devices. FDA says it is looking to develop biomarkers to help ascertain whether patient signs and symptoms of infection are attributable to infectious or non-infectious causes.
