FDA is proposing to expand the definition of retail food establishments to include roadside stands, farmers markets and community supported agriculture programs (CSAs), thereby exempting farms that sell their products directly to consumers using these methods from facility registration requirements under the Food Safety and Modernization Act (FSMA).
