The Senate agriculture/FDA spending bill passed through full committee Thursday (July 16) with a $40 million funding hike for FDA, after an amendment from Sen. Jeff Merkley (D-OR) that would have provided an additional $103 million to the agency was shot down. Also not agreed to was an amendment by Sen.
