CMS Proposes Mandatory Cardiac Bundle; Extends Joint Replacement Bundle To Hip, Femur Fractures

CMS on Monday (July 25) proposed another mandatory pay bundle, this one for cardiac care, along with a cardiac rehabilitation incentive-pay program and the addition of hip and femur fractures to the hip and knee replacement pay bundle. Some providers say CMS is moving too fast with the cardiac bundle, and Premier Senior Vice President Blair Childs said that while Premier supports the expansion of alternative pay options, the new cardiac and orthopedic bundles should be optional.
