CMS Proposes 1.6 Percent Pay Hike For Inpatient Psych Facilities

Inpatient psychiatric facilities would receive an estimated 1.6 percent, or $80 million, increase in Medicare pay for fiscal 2016 under a proposed pay rule released Friday (April 24). CMS also proposes to update the Inpatient Psychiatric Facility Quality Reporting Program and the inpatient psychiatric facility prospective payment system wage index, which would lead to some providers losing rural status and eventually their payment bump.
