CMS Extends Relief For Student Health Plan Arrangements

The administration on Friday extended for the foreseeable future a safe harbor for student health plans that lets university employers continue to offer students reimbursement to offset the cost of their health coverage. Aetna spokesperson TJ Crawford says the decision is great news for the approximately 1.5 million students across the country who depend on these plans. “Extending the safe harbor for the upcoming school year eliminates uncertainties and ensures appropriate continued coverage,” Crawford adds.
