Anthem, In Reversal, Now Losing Money On Exchange Plans

Anthem, one of the few plans that had once been profitable in the exchange business, announced Wednesday that it expects losses in the mid-single digits. Anthem CEO Joseph Swedish also reiterated the company had been looking to its planned merger with Cigna for expanding into additional states and to help stabilize prices, and will be fighting hard to against the Department of Justice's bid to block the merger.
