AHA To CMS: Tighten SEPs, Expand 3rd Party Pay To Improve Market

The American Hospital Association (AHA) on Wednesday (Aug. 24) asked CMS to require issuers accept premium payments from hospitals and other charities as long as they follow certain criteria in order to help boost marketplace enrollment and improve stability. AHA also joined the insurance industry in urging the agency to further tighten rules for special enrollment periods (SEPs) by implementing pre-enrollment verification.
