AdvaMed Survey Shows Device Tax Responsible For 18,500 Layoffs

The Advanced Medical Technology Association (AdvaMed) said Wednesday (Jan. 28) that it estimates the Affordable Care Act's medical device tax forced companies to lay off roughly 18,500 employees and could result in up to 39,000 fewer device sector jobs within the next five years. The electronic survey also says more than half of respondents said they cut research and development.
