CMS Moves Ahead With New Recovery Audit Contracts; CGI Lost Protest

A U.S. federal claims court recently sided with CMS over a protest by CGI Federal, Inc., clearing the way for the agency to award the new recovery audit contracts, CMS told Inside Health Policy. CMS previously said the agency hopes the new contracts will be awarded this year. CMS in June paused the recovery audit program, which is designed to audit Medicare claims for improper payments.
